New customer support centre for Volvo CE
Volvo Construction Equipment open purpose-designed customer-support centre in Horsham
VOLVO Construction Equipment have demonstrated their long-term commitment to customers by building a brand new flagship customer support facility in Horsham, West Sussex.
As part of their strategy for preparing for the future market upturn, Volvo CE has continued to invest in facilities to build workshop and service capability.
The opening of the Horsham customer support centre follows hot on the heels of an expanded support and machinery preparation centre at Immingham and an on-going programme of upgrading the company’s other facilities nationwide.
The new facility at Horsham replaces Volvo CE’s previous centre in Woking, Surrey, which had outgrown its capacity due to a growing machine population.
The new facility is located on a modern business park with excellent road links to the M23 and M25. It boasts ample yard space, bespoke machine washing facilities, a workshop and a comprehensive parts store.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the retired depot manager Des Perry who managed the Woking depot since 1987 before handing over to the current manager Dave Teague in 2005.
Nearly all the personnel from the Woking facility have made the move to the new site and five additional staff have been taken on to meet the expanding demand for the company’s services.
Members of Volvo CE’s executive management team were also present at the official opening, including managing director Val Ledden who thanked Dave Teague and his team for their support and determination to see through a smooth transition from the old to the new facility.
‘Opening a brand new facility in these challenging times clearly sends out a strong message affirming that we are here to stay and that we will continue to provide full support to our customers,’ said Mr Ledden.
