Equipment manufacturer announces all-new 10-model sorting and demolition grapple range

KOMATSU Europe have launched a new range of sorting and demolition grapples, the latest addition to the company’s attachments portfolio.

The latest grapple range – which consists of 10 models – meets the customers’ needs and the highest safety standards, with all units coming with a load control valve as standard.

The main focus areas were low maintenance costs and the long service life of the attachments. This was achieved using oversized pins and bushings, a robust double-walled main frame, and perforated Hardox shells.

The sorting and demolition grapples are also equipped with oversized slewing rings, with internally mounted hydraulic motors and integrated mechanical end stops to protect the cylinder.

In addition, the units feature reversible Hardox 500 cutting edges with recessed bolts and nuts. From the JRSG290-1 grapple up, all models are equipped with dual rotation motors.

‘We can cover a wide range of crawler and wheeled excavators, going from 2.5 to 70 tonnes machine class,’ said Bastiaan Cassiman, product manager attachments at Komatsu Europe. ‘Their heavy-duty design ensures that they hold up in even the toughest conditions. These grapples are designed to handle anything from primary and secondary demolition to recycling.’
