International distributors visit home of Terex trucks
Distributors from around the world gain a better understanding of the truck design and manufacturing process
MORE than 50 Terex distributors from around the world travelled to the home of Terex trucks in Motherwell, Scotland, to see for themselves each stage of the truck manufacturing process, from assembly and painting to fabrication and quality control.
During the event, the visitors from Africa, Asia, France, Norway, Russia and the Middle East were also able to speak with key Terex representatives.
According to Scott Pollock, Terex’s articulated and rigid trucks product manager, this transparency of operations was one of the most important aspects of the event.
‘Over the years, Scottish manufacturing and engineering has become synonymous with quality and innovation, so bringing our distributors to the site where we manufacture the trucks gave us the perfect opportunity to show them the quality that is built in to our trucks at each stage of the design and manufacturing process,’ he said.
‘All of our experts were on hand to speak to our customers and address any queries they had. From our engineering manager to the vice-president of sales, we all aim to be as accessible as possible.
‘Communicating with our distributors and customers has been, and always will be, the most important thing for us and events like these give us the perfect opportunity to meet face to face.
‘Ultimately, we wanted to arm them with the best possible information to help make their businesses more profitable.’
During the event, the Terex distributors also had the opportunity to operate the TA300 and TA400 articulated trucks, and were given walk-around presentations on both articulated and rigid trucks to help them understand the key features designed to make Terex trucks more productive for their owners.
