Volvo CE to sell cylinder production operation
Company announces decision to sell its cylinder production operation at Hallsberg in Sweden
VOLVO Construction Equipment say the decision to sell their Hallsberg cylinder operation is in line with the company’s overall strategy of focusing on cab manufacture at the Swedish facility.
Hallsberg is the company’s global competence centre for cab manufacture and supplies new cabs to most of Volvo’s other European factories.
Around 60 people are directly involved in cylinder production at the factory but this is expected to cease by the end of 2012.
In the meantime, the production of cylinders will gradually be transferred to Pacoma GmbH, suppliers of hydraulic cylinders for the worldwide market.
Volvo CE have a well-established partnership with Pacoma, which will be further reinforced by the current agreement.
