Urban Regen make it a Volvo triple

Urban Regen's Volvo fleet

Latest Volvo package of machines include new EC480E excavator and articulated hauler

DEMOLITION contractors Urban Regen have continued to endorse their use of Volvo CE products with the purchase of two new excavators and an articulated hauler.

‘We’ve been operating Volvo excavators since 2010 and more recently have added articulated haulers to our fleet,’ commented Andy Walker, managing director of Urban Regen.

‘The bottom line is that we consider Volvo machines to be the most powerful for the type of operations we undertake, notwithstanding their consistent reliability, performance and popularity with our operators.’

To further strengthen the mixed fleet run by Urban Regen, the Bolton-based firm has taken delivery of a new EC300E excavator and a larger 50-tonne EC480E model, along with a completely refurbished A30G articulated hauler.

‘We now currently run two EC300Es, an EC380E, two EC480Es and four articulated haulers which are used as our prime movers on our contracts,’ said Mr Walker. ‘The EC480E is proving to be a good all-round machine for demolition, earthworks, and rehandling crushed and recycled material.

‘All of our excavators are equipped with OilQuick automatic quick-coupler systems, which means we can change from bucket work to hammer and demolition attachments without the necessity of removing pins, pipes etc. This goes a long way to reducing health and safety hazards on site whilst keeping our productivity up.’

As well as serving the construction industry and related sectors, such as civil engineering and land remediation, Urban Regen have also seen an increased demand for services in recycling and demolition.

The company’s mobile equipment fleet, as demonstrated by the latest machinery investment, continues to be dominated by the Volvo brand. And Mr Walker said it is important for Urban Regen to renew and strengthen their earthmoving machinery fleet to keep pace with the growth of the waste-recycling market and further support their offerings to customers.

‘We are now able to take on substantial demolition work alongside all our land remediation activities, including crushing and screening to produce recycled aggregates for reuse on site,’ he commented. ‘We also have the capability of constructing roads and utilities as part of our package of site preparation services for clients if required.

‘We have a great team working for us with a great work ethic irrespective of where we are undertaking projects throughout the UK and everyone is committed for the right reasons. This is partly why we take the opinions and considerations of our operators seriously when purchasing capital equipment and it is the reason Volvo products are definitely in focus.’
