Ringway win Highways England contract

Company secures Highways England maintenance and response contract for south-west England

RINGWAY, the highway term service company and wholly owned subsidiary of Eurovia UK, have successfully secured the Highways England South West Area maintenance and response contract.

Starting on 1 July 2017, the contract will run for 15 years and is worth between £15 million and £30 million per annum.

The South West maintenance and response contract is for the maintenance of 1,695km of strategic road network within Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

Ringway will undertake all aspects of cyclic maintenance, reactive maintenance, incident response, severe weather response and associated traffic management across the South West’s major road network.

Scott Wardrop, chief executive, said: ‘This is fantastic news for Ringway and a major step forward towards our aim of becoming a significant and strategic supplier to Highways England as they continue to roll out their new Asset Delivery procurement model.

‘We look forward to the start of the contract in July and working in collaboration with Highways England to maintain and improve the strategic road network.

‘We believe our experience in operating and maintaining over 60,000km of both strategic and local authority networks across the UK has helped us to secure this important new commission for Highways England in the South West.’
