Nixon Hire appoint chief information officer
John Whitlow joins Nixon Hire to drive data and AI-powered digital transformation strategy
NIXON Hire, solution-based experts in sustainable site accommodation, modular buildings, and renewable power, have announced the appointment of John Whitlow as chief information officer (CIO). He will also join the Nixon Hire main board, reflecting the critical role that technology will play in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Having worked with Nixon Hire as a consultant since June 2022, Mr Whitlow will lead the next phase of Nixon Hire’s multi-million-pound digital transformation, embedding data capture, analysis, and insights alongside artificial intelligence (AI) at the core of the business, to elevate Nixon Hire’s customer experience, enhance efficiency, and drive profitability.
With more than 25 years’ IT, business leadership, and consultancy experience across public and private organizations, Mr whitlow’s expertise includes leading major infrastructure and application transformations which optimize IT and business operations for efficiency to deliver sustainable change and revenue growth.
His previous experience covers positions across financial services, legal, higher education, and healthcare. This includes a role at Barclays, where he implemented a new IT platform that achieved productivity savings of 70% and £10 million over three years. Prior to this, he also streamlined post-merger IT operations at HBOS.
As Nixon Hire advance their digital transformation, customers can expect a smarter, more seamless experience with greater accountability, measurability, and stronger results. Data and AI will ultimately enhance every touchpoint, from app and browser interactions to real-time predictive site and equipment analytics – backed by expert support to help customers maximize site efficiency, sustainability, and performance.
Internally, IT innovation will make Nixon Hire more connected, agile, and efficient – ensuring smoother operations and faster, data-driven decision-making across the depot network. Increased automation through AI will simplify routine tasks, allowing team members to focus on higher-value work, collaborate more effectively, and ultimately deliver better service to customers.
To support the transformation, Nixon Hire are investing heavily in technology infrastructure and strengthening their IT team with new appointments.
