Metso strengthen position in Aggregates segment
Company to acquire two US businesses – Diamond Z and Screen Machine Industries
METSO have signed an agreement to acquire Diamond Z and Screen Machine Industries from Crane Group, an Ohio-based, family-owned investment company, for an undisclosed sum.
Diamond Z will increase Metso’s offering in mobile equipment for the organic recycling markets, whilst Screen Machine Industries will broaden Metso’s portfolio in the North American mobile crushing and screening markets.
Diamond Z have established a reputation for manufacturing high-quality and durable mobile and portable grinders for the infrastructure recycling sector. Their offering consists of a broad range of high-speed grinders to suit varying needs from land clearing and construction and demolition, to composting and tyre disposal.
Screen Machine Industries offer a broad range of heavy-duty machines for various aggregates crushing and screening applications.
Together, the two companies employ approximately 190 people at locations in Caldwell, Idaho, and Etna, Ohio, respectively. Both companies will continue to operate independently in Metso’s materials processing products business line.
‘We are very happy to welcome Diamond Z and Screen Machine Industries to the Metso group of companies,’ said Markku Simula, president of Metso’s Aggregates business area.
‘Diamond Z will allow us to extend our offering in the growing infrastructure recycling equipment market, and Diamond Z mobile grinders portfolio provides a great addition to our materials processing products offering.
‘Screen Machine Industries will enhance our mobile crushing and screening offering and further strengthen our position as one of the leading providers in the field.’
Meanwhile, UK and Ireland Metso distributors McHale Plant Sales have said that they cannot yet confirm if the equipment manufactured by Diamond Z and Screen Machine will become available in the UK and Irish markets.
