Logical Concrete open new plant at Thorney
Land Logical Group invest in state-of-the-art ready-mixed concrete plant on A47 near Peterborough
LOGICAL Concrete have announced the opening of their new ready-mixed concrete plant on the A47 at Thorney, near Peterborough.
The investment marks a further strategic move for the Land Logical Group, complementing Land Logical’s aggregates quarry, which opened in July 2019, and creating a number of new full-time jobs in the area.
The new concrete operation has already been awarded BSI Kite Mark accreditation for the manufacture and supply of ready-mixed concrete in accordance with BS 8500 and BS EN 206.
The state-of-the-art wet-batch plant at Thorney offers a full range of standard and special concrete mixes to any required specification, with both delivery and collection available.
Deliveries will be made using one of Logical Concrete’s fleet of modern eight cubic metre truckmixers, whilst collection of semi-dry concrete by tipper truck will be effected via the plant’s specialty designed wet-batch hopper.
Nicky Katz, chief executive officer of Land Logical, said: ‘Logical Concrete will provide the local construction market with high-quality ready-mixed concrete, manufactured with aggregate produced by our own quarry, meaning no unnecessary road movement of aggregate is required to supply the concrete plant.
‘This coupled with the use of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (ggbs), a low-carbon cementitious material, means that Logical Concrete can provide some of the most sustainable concrete available in the area.’
