Brett Concrete open new plant in Portsmouth
Newly opened wet-batch plant expands Brett Concrete’s presence along the South Coast
BRETT Concrete say their new plant in Portsmouth had got off to a great start. The new wet-batch facility is capable of producing up to 400m3 of concrete per day and can provide both traditional and specialist concrete mixes and flowing screeds.
Production manager Nigel Tyler said: ‘We are really pleased with how it’s performing – all credit to operations supervisor Ray Woodger and the team who put a lot of time and effort in making sure the plant was set-up effectively and continues to run efficiently.’
The new plant will expand Brett Concrete’s presence along the South Coast, serving the areas of Portsmouth, Chichester, and Southampton. It is situated alongside Brett Aggregates’ recently opened deep-water wharf, which provides the benefit of a consistent flow of material to the site, allowing for the steady production of concrete products.
‘We’ve been busy since opening and are already supplying a variety of projects in the Portsmouth area, including concrete slabs, walls, and pilings for the South Sea coastal defence project; concrete for the construction of an extension building for Chichester College; as well as grey pigmented concrete for a domestic project,’ said Brett Concrete sales manager Joshua Forzani. ‘We are very much looking forward to future exciting opportunities in this area.’
