Hyundai and Case form strategic alliance
HYUNDAI Heavy Industries and Case Construction Equipment have announced that on 1 October the two companies officially initiated an OEM agreement whereby Hyundai will supply their HL780-7A wheel loader (5.5m3) to Case.
Hyundai say they expect the alliance to have a positive effect on the perception of Hyundai equipment in the mining and quarrying market segment, and that the co-operation is also expected to generate substantial economies of scale, beneficial to Hyundai’s own distribution network.
Case say they plan to debut the new addition to their wheel loader line-up at ConExpo-Con/AGG trade show in Las Vegas in March 2008. Under the terms of the agreement, the new model will be available in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Products sourced through the new strategic alliance will be sold under the Case brand, and all warranty, service and parts issues will be handled by the Case dealer network.
Commenting on the development, J.J. Kim, executive vice-president of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, said: ‘We are pleased that another major manufacturer recognizes the product quality and performance resulting from our world-class manufacturing capabilities.’
