HM Plant become Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd
New name for UK’s number one excavator supplier marks part of move to leverage the Hitachi brand
HM Plant, the UK’s number one excavator supplier, will today be rebranding and changing their name to Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd.
The company was acquired by Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe seven years ago, but since then had continued to operate under the HM Plant brand.
However, aligned to Hitachi’s commitment to invest in Britain, the Construction Machinery division has also made a strategic move into the quarrying and mining industry, and the company believes the move to leverage the Hitachi brand comes at an opportune time.
Chief executive officer John Jones explained: ‘It’s an exciting time for us, and follows on from another excellent year of trading, which has seen us grow our year-on-year turnover by more than 30%.
‘The move to change name at this juncture makes perfect sense, as we look to make a big impression in the quarry and mining sector, as well as further grow our market share in the UK as a whole over the next three years.
‘Our success to date has been built upon supplying reliable, highly productive Hitachi excavators, with excellent residual value, along with unrivalled support and customer service, and this will continue to be the case under our new name.’
Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) will continue to supply the complete range of Hitachi construction machinery, including mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders and dumptrucks.
They will also continue to offer parts, servicing and 24h support seven days a week from their 11 depots in the UK and appointed sub-dealers in Ireland.
