Doosan to launch new machines at ConExpo 2014

Doosan DL200-3 wheel loader

Latest excavators, wheel loaders and ADTs to be unveiled at North American equipment show

DOOSAN Infracore Construction Equipment will be using this year’s ConExpo as a launch pad for their latest machines, including a line-up of Final Tier 4- and Stage IV-compliant products and several recently launched Interim Tier 4/Stage IIIB-compliant excavators and wheel loaders.

One of the new machines on show will be the DX140LCR-3 excavator that meets an increasing demand for reduced radius machines as an alternative to conventional models for work on urban utility, highway, rail, bridge and other confined space construction sites.

Designed to exceed customer expectations for productivity, comfort, reliability, durability and reduced operating costs, the DX140LCR-3 machine is powered by a Cummins QSB 4.5 common rail four-cylinder, turbocharged, diesel engine featuring the latest evolution in maintenance-free diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) after-treatment technology to meet Stage IIIB engine emission regulations.

The engine runs at 2,200 rev/min and delivers 11% more power and 10% more torque, compared with the previous Stage IIIA-compliant DX140LCR model. It also delivers up to 5% more productivity (m3/h) to fuel consumption (l/h) ratio, depending on the operating mode selected and the work being undertaken.

Arm and bucket forces have been increased by up to 8% along with the travel speed which can now reach 3.2-5.3km/h in the low and high range, respectively.  Owing to the incorporation of a 400kg heavier counterweight (3500kg), the lifting capacities for the new DX140LCR-3 excavator have also been boosted by up to 7%.

Other products on show will include the new DX190W-3 wheeled excavator. Powered by a Stage IIIB-compliant Doosan DL06KB six-cylinder common rail diesel engine that has been fitted with a waste gate turbocharger with intercooler as standard, the excavator develops 129.4kW (174hp) at 1,900 rev/min which, the company says, delivers more power than other machines in the 18-19 tonne class.

This is combined with a huge hydraulic capacity to produce the highest arm and bucket forces together with the highest traction force on the market.

As with all Doosan new-generation models, the new DL200-3 wheel loader, which will be displayed at ConExpo, features a new cab design offering better visibility, thanks to a wider front glass section and an extended wiper blade area.

Powered by a Doosan DL06K six-cylinder common-rail turbocharged, diesel engine (119kW at 2,100 rev/min) the DL200-3 model combines high engine power with a number of new features to minimize fuel consumption and provide better operator comfort, exceptional performance, ease of handling, easier serviceability and extended durability.

New ZF limited-slip Type II differential axles, for example, help provide increased durability and a longer lifetime. Rolling resistance for the axles is reduced; improving traction and minimizing fuel consumption.

As an option, customers can choose ZF axles with a hydraulic differential lock. This function is engaged via the operator pedal or in automatic mode, depending on the torque resistance in first and second gear. The hydraulic lock system offers less rolling resistance than the limited-slip system.
