British Geological Survey publishes latest details of active mineral operations from 2019–2020

THE latest edition of the ‘Directory of Mines and Quarries’ covering active mineral operations from 2019–2020 is now available.

The publication covers quarrying, mining, oil and gas extraction and major mineral-handling sites in the UK, giving details of the location, operator, commodity and end use of the mineral, as well as geological information for the site.

Information for the directory is extracted from the BRITPITS database, which contains some 247,000 records of mineral activity past and present.
