Digging with Volvo
Eastbourne-based Diggers 360 have taken delivery of the UK’s first Volvo EC160C excavator. Equipped with a factory-fitted dozer blade, the new C-series machine is powered by a Tier III-compliant D6 engine, developing 118hp while offering, say Volvo, ‘higher torque at low rev/min, leading to ultra-efficient fuel consumption’.
The EC160C is also said to be impossible to stall as an onboard computer balances maximum available power to hydraulic output, preventing the engine from becoming overloaded.

Visibility has been improved over the B-series model, especially upper and lower visibility in the operator’s field of view, while the enhanced suspension system has been developed to surpass emerging cab vibration requirements, helping to reduce fatigue and whole-body vibration for the driver.
The recently delivered EC160C joins Diggers 360’s growing fleet of Volvo machinery, including a 14-tonne EC140BLC, 29-tonne EC290BLC and two BL71 backhoe loaders, all supplied by Kent-based independent Volvo dealers Trackers Ltd.
