Another new Bucket Bundie for Paul Chapman & Sons

Bucket Bundie unit

Plant hire firm purchases third, but this time larger-capacity, fuel tank from ACE Plant

LEICESTERSHIRE-based Paul Chapman & Sons Ltd have purchased their third Bucket Bundie unit from ACE Plant. Manufactured in the UK, the Bucket Bundie is an innovative bunded fuel tank specially designed to be picked up and moved around site in the bucket of a wheel loader or telehandler.

Having bought a conventional 1,000-litre capacity static Bundie Bowser from ACE Plant two years ago, company owner Paul Chapman says he subsequently discovered the extra benefits of the Bucket Bundie version and how it could speed the refuelling of his tracked crushers and screens working remotely in quarries and recycling operations.

The good experiences that Mr Chapman has had with two of his 1,000-litre capacity Bucket Bundie bowsers led to the latest purchase of a much larger 2,250-litre capacity unit, which is being safely utilized on challenging sites in the bucket of a Volvo L150F wheel loader.

The award-winning Bucket Bundie features a patented bucket loading system with special slots above the support legs that allow a wheel loader operator to easily pick up and move the bowser using just the machine’s front bucket.

Each Bucket Bundie bowser from ACE Plant is IBC-certified and has removable baffled inner tank and outer bunding – both manufactured from 4mm thick steel. The fuel-storage units are available with capacities of 450 litres, 1,000 litres or 2,250 litres.

Units are tailored to suit specific customer requirements with a choice of petrol-driven or electric fuel pumps and different delivery hose options (with or without a reel). They can also be equipped with a flow meter and extra filtration.

With the loader bucket crowded back, the Bucket Bundie is held securely for safe transportation across site. According to ACE Plant, the arrangement works more efficiently than using a towed fuel bowser which can be difficult to move and reverse – particularly on rough terrain.

Mr Chapman said: ‘The Bucket Bundie is a really good bit of kit. It saves a tremendous amount of time on site as fuel can quickly be taken directly to our tracked crushers and screeners wherever they are working.’
