Aggregate Industries reach for Volvo

Aggregate Industries UK Ltd have taken delivery of a specially prepared long-reach version of the Volvo EC360BLC for their operation at Little Paxon, Cambridgeshire.

Producing around 200 tonnes/h, the Volvo EC360BLC has a reach of 20m, a 1.2m3 bucket and takes over the extraction duties for the quarry from a RB38 dragline. With this configuration the excavator is able to dig sand and gravel straight from the bank and discharge directly into a mobile feed hopper. The length of reach and load-over height ensure there is minimal disruption to the flow of material to the plant, via a conveyor belt, as the feed hopper is not having to be moved and resited on a regular basis.
