A brace of Terex Finlay screens for W & M Thompson Quarries
Quarry operator takes delivery of two Terex Finlay 694+ Supertraks supplied by Finlay Plant Northern
W & M Thompson Quarries of Durham have purchased two Terex Finlay 694+ mobile inclined screens. The new machines are currently being used to process agriculture lime and aggregates at the mineral operator’s Bishop Middleham magnesium limestone quarry.
Each Supertrak machine is processing materials at a rate of up to 150 tonnes/h, delivering sizes including: –3mm; 10mm; 20mm; and 40mm. The end product is sold in the regional markets of North Yorkshire, Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and Scotland, while some are exported to Europe.
The Terex Finlay 694+ inclined screen has been designed specifically for versatility, ease of servicing, durability and productivity. The machine features a 20’ x 5’ triple-deck screenbox which offers ultra efficient screening capacities at smaller aggregate sizes.
An innovative hydraulically folded fourth conveyor allows simple adjustment with variable tilt and slew discharge for recirculation or stockpiling of finished material.
Washing equipment can be fitted to the screenbox if required between 18 - 30 degrees.
As well as the purchase of the new machines, W & M Thompson Quarries will also have aftermarket support, from servicing and support to backup, provided by Finlay Plant Northern (part of the Finlay Group).
Eddie Collins, quarry operations manager for W & M Thompson Quarries, said: ‘We have dealt with Finlay Plant Northern for more than 20 years and have always benefitted from good customer service. They are always helpful and will talk through a project and deliver a solution. We’re hired Terex Finlay machines in the past but took the decision this time to purchase the plant.’
