Volvo Trucks appoint new MD for UK

Volvo Group Australia president Arne Knaben appointed as managing director of Volvo Group UK

ARNE Knaben has been appointed as Volvo Trucks’ managing director of Volvo Group UK. He succeeds Ulf Magnusson who is moving to Gothenburg to become senior vice-president of Volvo Buses’ Business Region Europe.

Mr Knaben, who currently holds the position of president of Volvo Group Australia, will take up his new position on 1 October 2013 and will be based at Volvo Group UK’s headquarters in Warwick.

Volvo Trucks’ commercial truck director, Ian Mitchell, has been appointed as acting managing director until Mr Knaben’s arrival.

Mr Knaben began his Volvo career in 1992 and has held various positions within sales, after-sales and management in Norway, Sweden, India, Denmark and Australia. Before his Volvo career he worked for several years as a mechanic and as a truck driver.

During the last four years, Mr Knaben has been responsible for Volvo Group Australia working with the Volvo, Mack, UD and Renault truck brands.
