UK recycling firm turns to Kiverco for bespoke solution
Plant manufacturer works closely with customer to deliver high-performance modular waste-processing plant
COMPACT equipment manufacturers Kiverco were recently approached by Ground Waste Recycling to supply a solid and robust plant designed to process construction and demolition (C&W) waste at a rate of up to 35 tonnes/h.
There were a number of specific requirements and challenges on the project, including the small footprint in which Kiverco had to work with. The Kiverco team, therefore, took a holistic approach to developing the bespoke plant, recognizing each system as a whole and working to address challenges and develop solutions closely with the customer.
The two companies worked together on several revisions of the plant layout to ensure the whole recycling system slotted into the yard. One of the solutions that Kiverco came up with was to use a 3D combi screen instead of a separate trommel and flip-flow screen.
The plant was also designed to allow the customer to ‘shutter its own concrete walls’. The recycling system itself consists of a belt feeder, combi screen, picking station and blower.
Mirelle Quigley, operations director for Ground Waste Recycling, said: ‘We have seen a great improvement in the recycling of materials, which has reduced our landfill percentages and carbon footprint. Installation took two weeks as promised and everything went to plan.’
