INDEPENDENT national surfacing contractors Toppesfield Ltd have announced the appointment of Bill Pryor as managing director, with Matthew Pryor, who has been at the helm of Toppesfield since founding the company in 2004, stepping into the role of chairman.

Toppesfield have grown and transformed over the last 17 years into an organization that now employs more than 250 people with a turnover of £80 million. Bill Pryor joined the company in 2013 and moves from his current role as commercial director.

Commenting on the change, Matthew Pryor said: ‘Next month will mark 17 years since I started this business, and with the help of my great team we have built a brilliant and successful company.

‘Now is the right time to implement the next stage of this ongoing development process. With immediate effect, I shall become chairman of the business to allow my senior management team to have full control of the day-to-day activities.

‘Bill has revolutionized the commercial team during his time as commercial director, making it integral to all that we do across the business, and I look forward to seeing Toppesfield continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.

‘I will continue to be very involved and will also continue to focus on strategic business development and sales. However, after 17 years of running the business, it feels completely right to take this next step for me and, most importantly, for the business.’

Bill Pryor (pictured) said: ‘Toppesfield are uniquely positioned within the surfacing industry, bringing the best solutions, the best innovations and, most importantly, the best people to match our clients’ delivery needs.

‘After 17 years in operation, the Toppesfield family culture that is present throughout the business is extremely humbling, and I am excited to lead Toppesfield through the next stage of their journey.’
