The Pursuit of Net Zero Concrete
Institute of Concrete Technology to hold 2024 annual convention symposium in Birmingham
THE Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) has announced that its annual convention symposium – entitled ‘The Pursuit of Net Zero Concrete’ – will be held on 11 April 2024 at Hillscourt Hotel in Birmingham.
The ICT convention is different from previous events and confirms the organization’s ongoing commitment to the pursuit of net-zero carbon concrete. The first convention symposium under 'The Pursuit of Net Zero Concrete' banner will focus on particular aspects and a range of case studies covering topics such as carbon capture, the circular economy, concrete with biotechnology, and carbon mineralization.
The challenge has been set to achieve net-zero concrete by 2050 and ICT will be discussing how the concrete products sector can achieve this.
Many national and concrete industry roadmaps have been drawn up to chart the way and within the various strategies put forward, concrete technology has a critical role in reducing the world’s carbon intensity.
The ICT is taking the lead in providing a platform to discuss CO2-reducing concrete technologies and this series of conventions will explore demonstrable and scalable solutions.
