Terex Finlay launch new I-140 impact crusher

Terex Finlay I-140 impact crusher

New impactor said to offer unprecedented levels of production in quarrying, recycling and mining applications

THE new direct-drive, variable-speed, 1,270mm diameter x 1,240mm (Ø50in x 48in) I-140 horizontal-shaft impact crusher from Terex Finlay is said to offer unprecedented levels of production in quarrying, recycling and mining applications.

According to the manufacturer, the machine’s robust Terex CR032 chamber achieves excellent reduction ratios and high consistency of product shape, whilst an optional under-crusher vibratory plate feeder with wear-resistant liners further aids material discharge.

Moreover, Terex Finlay say they have significantly improved material flow through the machine by introducing a new engineering approach whereby the width of the plant components increases as the material progresses.

The I-140 features an advanced electronic control system that monitors and controls the speed of the rotor and regulates the heavy-duty vibrating feeder with its integrated pre-screen, to maintain a consistent feed into the impact chamber for optimal crushing conditions. Material from the pre-screen can be diverted to stockpile, via an optional by-pass conveyor, or can join the crushed product on the main belt.

A fully hydraulic setting assist system provides convenient and efficient adjustment of the aprons, whilst the standard hopper capacity of 6.0 cubic metres (7.5 cubic yards) is said to place the machine at the forefront in this market sector.

‘The introduction of the Terex Finlay I-140 represents a significant step change in our family of impact crushers,’ said product manager Alan Witherow. ‘Our extensive field test results have recorded significant productivity increases over the model it replaces, depending on the application.

‘Moreover, the plant’s enhanced material flow process represents a further significant step change to our engineering ethos and, in due course, will be extended across our range of impact crushers.’
