Tarmac star in new children’s educational video

Toddler Fun Learning platform

Machinery at Thrislington Quarry features in new video filmed for the Toddler Fun Learning platform

TARMAC are taking toddlers on a virtual journey from the sandpit to the quarry in an educational video introducing them to the industry in a safe, fun way.

The new video, filmed for the popular Toddler Fun Learning platform, showcases the machinery at Tarmac’s Thrislington Quarry, in Co. Durham. The channel’s colourful animated mascot, Gecko, dons his safety helmet to talk and sing about the quarry’s fleet of dumptrucks and excavators.

More than 2 million children under the age of six watch content from Toddler Fun Learning every week through its app and YouTube channel. Tarmac’s quarrying machinery joins the likes of Alton Towers’ rollercoasters, the RNLI’s lifeboats and Tesla’s electric cars in featuring on the popular platform.

Joanne Reah, Tarmac’s national resourcing manager, said: ‘It’s never too early to encourage children to think about STEM careers. Collaborating with Toddler Fun Learning has allowed us to introduce children to the world of quarrying in a fun and safe way.

‘I’m sure the video’s excavator song will get stuck in the heads of many youngsters and their parents, hopefully leading them to think more about the building blocks of the world around them.’
