SANY now largest heavy equipment firm in China
Forbes 2021 Global 2000 list places SANY first in China and second in the world after Caterpillar
SANY have ranked 468th in the Forbes Global 2000 list for 2021, placing them first among heavy equipment manufacturers in China and second in the world after Caterpillar. The annual list ranks the world’s 2,000 largest public companies using metrics such as sales, profits, assets and market value.
With annual sales of US$14.4 billion, profit of US$ 2.2billion, asset value of US$19.3 billion and market value of US$41.2 billion, this year SANY surged 235 places to enter the list’s top 500 for the first time.
Despite suffering a 27% reduction in the global market for construction machinery when the COVID-19 pandemic began in the first quarter of 2020 – the largest hit to the global economy in the 21st century to date – the company managed to maintain steady growth.
With their main product lines continuing to perform well globally, good momentum continued in the first quarter of 2021, during which quarterly revenue reached US$ 5.17 billion, an increase of 90% year on year, helping to cement SANY’s leading position in the industry.
