World’s first fully electric 4.5-tonne roller to debut at EHS 2025
New light tandem roller with fully electric drive and vibration to debut at Executive Hire Show 2025
EXHIBITING for the first time at the Executive Hire Show 2025, SANY Road Machinery UK will debut the new SANY STR50E light tandem roller which is said to be the first in its weight class with fully electric drive and vibration.
This has been accomplished by adopting the latest battery technology which utilizes a large, cobalt-free, 60kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery sourced from CATL, one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers.
The fully electric drive and vibration system of the 4.5-tonne STR50E makes it highly efficient and allows for energy recuperation when changing from forward to backward movement and when slowing down, similar to a Formula 1 car.
The large battery pack also ensures that the STR50E-10 can run for 4–6h in real world conditions before it will need charging by the on-board charger.
Along with the state-of-the-art power system, the STR50E also has an ergonomically designed operator’s platform which allows full side-to-side movement with swivel action for maximum visibility, whilst the two electronic control levers maximize operational flexibility.
Following on from the successful launch of SANY’s fully electric SY19E mini-excavator and SY215E excavator, the STR50E is a significant first step in zero-emission plant from SANY Road Machinery, with other machines due to arrive later in 2025.
