RoSPA Gold Award for Tarmac

RoSPA

Company’s commitment to health and safety recognized by Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

TARMAC have picked up a prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for their health and safety practices.

Selected from among a field of 2,000 entrants, the award was in recognition of the company’s practices and achievements in helping employees and contractors get home safely at the end of each working day.

The accolade, given to Tarmac’s Contracting, Building Products and Materials businesses, cited a range of initiatives including the quality of Tarmac’s three-year health and safety strategy, the support of the company’s internal communications team, the involvement of the company’s leadership team, peer-to-peer reviews by colleagues, and the launch of new contractor-management standards, as well as the transformation of the induction process.

Simon Grey, Tarmac’s director of health and safety, said: ‘A commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment for colleagues and partners is fundamental to how we do business.

‘We are, therefore, really proud to have received this award, which is testament to the efforts of all our colleagues and reflects our culture of seeking out continuous improvements across the whole business.’
