UK’s largest independent equipment dealer awarded SafeContractor accreditation
MOLSON Group, the UK’s largest independent equipment dealers with sites across the UK, have been awarded SafeContractor accreditation.
The SafeContractor scheme is an SSIP-approved health and safety assessment scheme for contractors seeking to demonstrate that they are taking responsibility for their legal health and safety requirements seriously.
The scheme currently has more than 30,000 active members and is widely seen as a sign of an organization’s health and safety competency.
Molson Group’s application process was managed by health and safety manager, James Smith. Since joining the Group in 2016, he has been instrumental in reviewing and refining the company’s health and safety policies and ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times.
Mr Smith said: ‘We are delighted to be awarded with SafeContractor accreditation. Although we have had the processes and policies in place for some time, this accreditation makes it clear to our customers, suppliers and staff that we take health and safety seriously.
‘However, as with everything at Molson Group, we won’t be happy staying at this level. Our constant drive for improvement means that we will continue to work on improving safety in the workplace, starting with the redevelopment of our Avonmouth headquarters, which is planned to start in spring 2019.’
