Newly designed hydraulic motors from Bosch Rexroth

Bosch Rexroth

Bosch Rexroth have improved the design of their compact series of Hägglunds hydraulic motors, giving the range unmatched power density and the ability to deliver full torque and full speed simultaneously.

The new Hägglunds CA 10 to 40 motors are far smaller and lighter in design, but still maintain the same operational levels of the previous version. The improvements see the hydraulic motor extend down to 10Nm/bar.

With extreme power density and high flexibility, the new motors are suitable for use in lighter applications, such as injection-moulding machines in the plastics industry.

The new design has seen Rexroth reduce the motor diameter whilst refining the internal construction. The company say the improved motors deliver more kilowatts of power per kilo than any other. Full speed and full torque are available simultaneously, and both can be sustained for an indefinite period of time.

The new series is available in four basic models, as well as a wide variety of displacement versions. The torque can be configured via two mechanical interfaces to meet bespoke needs, keeping tight dimensioning and optimization with hydraulic pumping systems simple.

In addition, the new Hägglunds motor utilizes hydraulic radial piston motors with a built-in ability to withstand shock loads. It also features internal symmetry, allowing not only consistent torque throughout the revolution, but a balance of forces, thereby minimizing noise and vibration.

David Waldron, business and divisional manager at Bosch Rexroth, said: ‘The streamlined design of the new Hägglunds hydraulic motor allows engineers to utilize the operational capabilities the market place has come to expect from the Hägglunds series in smaller applications. The new Hägglunds CA 10 to 40 motors not only offer unrivalled power density, but the design improvements have reduced hydro-mechanical losses in the motors, enhancing energy efficiency levels.’
