New wobbler feeder from Hazemag
HAZEMAG & EPR GmbH have introduced a new, hydraulically adjustable wobbler feeder, which has been designed to remove damp and abrasive fines ahead of downstream crushing processes. The feeder has a screening surface which incorporates a series of shafts with defined gaps through which the fines can pass. According to the degree of separation required, the shafts are fitted with elliptical or triangular-shaped discs which promote material movement across the screen and help prevent blinding and pegging.
The adjustable wobbler feeder comprises two sections, the first featuring fixed shafts spaced at the minimum gap setting required. These shafts can be actuated by a common drive unit via roller chains, or by means of individual drives with flexible couplings. This section serves as a pre-screen and relieves the load on the second section.
The second section has adjustable shafts, each of which has its own individual drive unit. The shafts are fitted with a specially designed hydraulic adjusting device which allows the gaps to be widened or closed as required. This mechanism ensures that the gaps are parallel over the full width of the feeder, thereby guaranteeing accurate and uniform separation of the fines. The use of frequency converters means the speed of all the drive motors can be varied infinitely, as required.
The correct settings of the adjustable shafts are maintained by an electro-hydraulic interlocking system, which has to be released before any gap adjustment of the shafts can be effected. Optimum gap setting is selected by push button and can be carried out during operation (albeit under no-load conditions) without the need for any tools.
Both the fixed and the variable feeder shafts are kept clean and free from material deposits by means of an integrated scraper/cleaner device, to ensure smooth and trouble-free operation even with problematic feed materials.
Designed for the processing of limestone, marl, clay, coal, building rubble etc, the 3.5m wide wobbler feeder accepts feed sizes from 0–1,500mm and provides separations from 15–150mm at capacities up to 2,500 tonnes/h.
