New senior appointment at Schaeffler

Precision bearing specialists appoint Leigh Hopkins as industrial sales director UK & Ireland

PRECISION bearing manufacturers Schaeffler have appointed Leigh Hopkins as industrial sales director at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd.

Mr Hopkins joined Schaeffler UK in 1994, working in various roles in quality and sales before being appointed as regional sales manager for the South in 2011, which also involved developing new business for the UK and Ireland.

In his new role as industrial sales director, Mr Hopkins will look after all UK industrial direct sales to OEMs and MRO customers. He will report to Richard Hall, president industrial for the UK & Ireland.

In his new role, Mr Hopkins is now responsible for Schaeffler UK’s entire team of regional sales engineers, whose goal is to work closely with Schaeffler’s authorized distribution partners’ regional sales teams and branches, to jointly strengthen Schaeffler UK’s position with end customers.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Hopkins said: ‘I am really excited to be taking on the responsibility for Schaeffler’s industrial sales in the UK and Ireland, where we see strong growth potential.
