New senior appointment at Material Evolution
Ultra-low carbon cement producer welcomes Nigel Shewring as new director of research and development
MATERIAL Evolution, a leader in ultra-low carbon cement production, has appointed Nigel Shewring to the new role of director of research and development.
With more than 25 years of international R&D experience in the coatings industry and a track record of developing and commercializing sustainable coatings, Mr Shewring brings a wealth of experience to the new position. With extensive materials science and innovation expertise, he will drive Material Evolution’s mission to revolutionize cement production with sustainable solutions.
Mr. Shewring will lead the strategic vision for Material Evolution’s R&D department, overseeing the development of next-generation ultra-low carbon cement formulations, thereby assisting the company in achieving its goal of removing a gigaton of carbon from the concrete production process by 2040.
He will also lead the company’s multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and researchers in pushing the boundaries of material innovation while fostering collaborations with external research partners and securing funding for groundbreaking initiatives.
