New hydrostatic level sender
LEAMINGTON Spa-based Fozmula have introduced the T/LL200 hydrostatic liquid level sender, designed for use in tanks requiring continuous level measurement of their contents and providing a voltage or 4–20mA output suitable for connecting into PLC or process-related applications.
Employing the well-established hydrostatic method of measuring liquid depth, Fozmula say the T/LL200 is able to compensate for variations in atmospheric pressure to give precise results every time, thereby resulting in fewer errors compared with the more costly absolute pressure measuring methodology.
Suitable for use in high-performance, low-pressure applications, including industrial tanks, off-highway and utility vehicles, construction equipment and diesel engines, the T/LL200 is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from –20°C to +85°C.
With its continuous signal output, Fozmula say the device is particularly suited to remote telemetry applications where a reading may be taken at regular intervals to establish that, for example, fuel usage remains consistent.
In addition, the T/LL200’s performance has been enhanced through the use of high-grade materials, including a heavy-gauge 316 stainless steel transducer housing with tamper-proof, wire gauze mesh at the mouth to prevent the ingress of tank sediment, which could otherwise affect or compromise the reading.
A choice of industry standard signals is available (either 4–20mA or voltages of between 0–5V or 5–0V). Calibration is undertaken by Fozmula to meet customer requirements for liquid type, liquid density and tank depth.
Suitable for use in storage tanks ranging from 400mm to 4m in depth, the device’s header and transducer are connected via flexible polyurethane tubing, allowing the technology to be employed in odd-shaped tanks or where internal obstructions, such as baffles, are present.
Easy to fit via an integral half-inch BSPT thread or optional SAE 5-hole flange, the T/LL200 features a low-profile header designed for use in restricted areas, while the sender’s connector is compatible with Packard Metripac 150-series connectors for easy fitment, and features ingress protection to IP67.
