New Holland Construction unveil new excavator models
Italian manufacturers add E215C and E245C machines to C-Series crawler excavator range
NEW Holland have expanded their C-Series excavator range with the addition of two new models – the 21-tonne E215C and 25-tonne E245C. As with the first two models launched earlier this year, the latest machines have been designed with optimized performance and cost efficiency in mind.
This includes: 10% more productivity resulting from greater power and control; up to 10% fuel savings through selective catalytic control (SRC) technology and a highly efficient hydraulic system; lower operating costs due to longer service intervals and optimized engine combustion; and superior operator comfort and safety thanks to the EVO cab with ROPS/FOPS protection, new joystick controls and a multifunctional monitor.
The E215C and E245C models feature SCR (developed by FPT Industrial) which optimizes the combustion process for maximum efficiency and allows the six-cylinder common-rail engine to focus fully on generating powering, delivering an extra 15hp compared with the B-Series range. This solution is based on an after-treatment system that breaks down the NOx into nitrogen and water through a chemical reaction with AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
The SCR system also helps reduce fuel consumption while maintaining high performance via a new Eco working mode on the machines. The hydraulic system has been redesigned to increase the excavator’s hydraulic efficiency. Combined with upgraded joystick controls and an electronic processor, operators will benefit from highly responsive controls that deliver extra power when needed.
The EVO cab delivers good all-round visibility with a full-size right-side window and rear-view camera as standard, while the narrow pillars of the ROPS/FOPS reinforced structure further improve visibility. In addition, the multifunctional monitor allows the operator to see the rear of the machine when monitoring the excavator’s parameters.
According to New Holland, the E215C and E245C’s new dampers reduce vibration levels by as much as 30% when travelling and by up to 50% during digging. This, together with enhanced soundproofing and a spacious operator workstation and ergonomic control layout, means the EVO cab offers superior levels of operator comfort.
