New high-strength steel

SSAB Swedish Steel have launched into the UK Domex Wear, a new extra-high-strength, formable, wear-resistant steel.

Domex Wear has an as-delivered core hardness of 265 Brinell. When subjected to abrasion, the surface work hardens to around 380 Brinell. Characteristics include good welding and forming properties.

Suitable for applications such as concrete mixers, hoppers, silos, fans, cyclones and elevator buckets, it is available in 3-6.4mm thicknesses and in 1,500-13,000mm sheet lengths.
