JCB Tier 4 Waste range brings fuel savings for customers

JCB JS20MH material handler

The fuel savings offered to JCB Wastemaster customers will be the central focus of the company’s presence at this year’s RWM show.

With their new EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim JCB Ecomax engine, JCB can meet the latest EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 emissions standards without resorting to external exhaust after treatment or a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This reduces servicing and maintenance costs for customers while the ability to run on standard engine oils lowers the cost of machine ownership still further.

The JCB Ecomax engine has been introduced across many of the company’s purpose-built Wastemaster models, three of which will be on show at RWM.

Now in full production and available for customers nationwide, the JS20MH is JCB’s first dedicated material handler for the waste and recycling industry. The company say that with the new JCB Ecomax engine it can achieve up to 10% fuel efficiency improvements on the previous model. Fitted with a 5.7m straight boom, it is tailor-made for material handling. JCB will show the model with gooseneck handling dipper and 5-tine grab.

With its ability to power an extensive range of specialist attachments, the JCB 4CX Wastemaster model – JCB’s first specialist backhoe loader for the industry – is suited to the non-stop working environment typically found at household waste recycling centres, also known as civic amenity sites. The introduction of the efficient JCB Ecomax engine and variable displacement hydraulic pumps deliver fuel savings of up to 8% compared with the previous model. It will be shown on the JCB stand complete with thumb grab attachment.

Now powered by the JCB Ecomax engine, the 527-58 Wastemaster delivers the optimum combination of size, manoeuvrability and power to target a vast range of waste and recycling applications and saves up to 7% more fuel than its predecessor. Despite its compact dimensions, the 527-58WM benefits from generous steering lock angles, optimum wheelbase and multimode steering - providing superb manoeuvrability on restricted sites. The model shown will feature a waste shovel and top grab.

In addition, JCB will be showing the new Tier 4i Teletruk TLT35D 4x4, which offers significant advantages over conventional forklifts courtesy of a telescopic boom instead of a mast. With its ability to reach forwards, loads can be lifted and placed quickly making it an indispensable materials handler for the recycling industry.

All these new Tier 4i machines will also be fitted with the JCB LiveLink telematics system as standard, allowing owners to monitor every aspect of performance.
