Innovation Challenge Success for Atlantic Pumps

Tarmac Innovation Challenge

Company wins Tarmac Innovation Challenge 2018 with innovative ideas for next stage of Pump Register

CHESTERFIELD-based Atlantic Pumps are celebrating after winning the Tarmac Innovation Challenge 2018 with their submission for the next stage of their Pump Register.

A prototype model of the idea has already been built and has been tested by Atlantic Pumps, and Tarmac will now work with the company to develop the idea before launching it across their sites.

In addition to recording a site’s pump details, the current register provides the user with quicker quoting and delivery time if a pump goes down, easier identification of details when new spares are required, and the setting up of service reminders if needed.

Atlantic Pumps were one of 190 entrants that submitted a video of their idea to Tarmac. These were whittled down to a final 14 with each presenting their idea to a panel of judges at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry.

Commenting on the next step in the development of the Pump Register, Atlantic Pumps’ chief marketing Officer, Bill Noakes, said: ‘We are developing innovative ideas that will bring improvements to our customer service offering, improve Tarmac’s asset management and reduce downtime in the industry.

‘We share with Tarmac a belief that collaboration can bring big benefits to both parties. To receive such recognition from a well-known name in the industry is a credit to our energetic and hard-working team here at Atlantic Pumps.’
