Increasing productivity with Powerscreen
New Warrior 1400X screen saves time and improves fuel efficiency for Sutton Services
SINCE its launch at Hillhead 2012, the Powerscreen Warrior 1400X screening machine has impressed customers in the UK and abroad. Sutton Services, a family-run business specializing in demolition, site clearance, plant hire and recycling, have recently taken delivery of their first Warrior 1400X screen.
The new machine is processing construction and demolition waste from a recycling site in Ipswich and, according to Glenn Sutton, director of Sutton Services, the new features on the Warrior 1400X have already led to an increase in productivity and improved fuel efficiency.
‘We feel this machine is way ahead of anything else on the market,’ he commented. ‘With the new screen media set up, we have seen a 25-30% reduction in the need for crushing which, in turn, has helped drive down our operational costs while increasing production ability. Compared to the previous machine we were using, we have seen a 10% reduction in set-up and takedown time. There is also noise reduction making this a suitable machine for use in the city.’
Mr Sutton continued: ‘We have recorded a vast improvement in the middle grade quality. The mid-grade product can be sent straight to stockpile as it is correctly sized, while the media ensures that the fines are not piggy backing on paving slabs or kerbing.
Other key features of the Warrior 1400X include: a feeder tray that minimizes spillage around the machine; a collection raise that provides easier access to the diesel tank, ensuring the screen is maintenance-friendly; stockpile heights that increase the stockpiling capacity on the fine and mid-size conveyors by up to 50% with the new chassis riser; and a new jack-up screen system that allows the site engineer to access and change the media in half the time it would take on the Warrior 1400.
The Warrior 1400X can be fitted with either a Tier 3/Stage 3A four-cylinder Caterpillar C4.4 ATAAC diesel engine (120hp at 1,800 rev/min), or a Tier 4i/Stage 3B four-cylinder Caterpillar C4.4 diesel engine (110hp at 1,800 rev/min).
