Hyundai expand dealer network and open new central stocking facility in UK
Hyundai have announced the addition of three new dealers to their UK network: two in Scotland and one in Wales, and also the opening of a new central import and stocking facility at Tilbury Docks in London, in order to shorten delivery times to UK dealers and customers.
In Scotland the new dealers are Stirling-based Young Plant Sales Ltd, who will cover southern and central Scotland, including the Western Isles and Tayside up to Forfar and across to Fort William; and Aberdeenshire-based Balgownie Ltd, who will cover the whole of the north of Scotland.
In South and West Wales, a new plant sales company, SW Plant Sales Ltd, has been established in Chepstow with Hyundai as its first major product line.
SW Plant and Balgownie will both be full-line dealers for the complete range of Hyundai construction machines, while Young Plant will represent all lines up to the largest excavators and wheel loaders, but excluding mini-excavators.
Hyundai's UK regional manager, Alan Palling, said the new dealers would fill important gaps in the company's network at a time when the reputation and demand for Hyundai products is increasing.
'We recognize that quick delivery is a key factor in securing orders when the market is so competitive and machines are in short supply. It helps our dealers to close deals positively if they have the assurance that they can deliver promptly, and our new central stocking facility will ensure that,' he commented.
Earlier this year, Hyundai used Hillhead 2007 to promote the latest additions to the 'heavy' end of the their wheel loader and excavator lines. This marked the first public showing in the UK of the new 50-tonne R500LC-7A excavator and the new top-of-the-range 30-tonne HL780-7A wheel loader.
These new 'heavy' machines are powered by the latest high-performance Cummins engines, which meet the latest Tier III emissions and noise level standards and, together with a lower engine speed (2,000 rev/min), also provide improved fuel consumption.
With a range of heavy-duty buckets up to 5.1m3 capacity, the new HL780-7A has been designed as a high-output, front-line production unit for the quarrying, mining and construction industries. With a load-over height of 3.4m, it is well matched for use with large dumptrucks up to
80 tonnes capacity, and for the direct loading of high-sided crushers.
Hyundai's full range of wheel loaders now incorporates six basic models, from the 10-tonne HL730-7 up to the new 30-tonne machine, together with a number of special application models, such as the TM parallel-lift material handlers and the XTD extended-lift machines.
