Hyundai Dash-7A excavators for Malcolm Group
MALCOLM Construction, a division of the Paisley-based Malcolm Group and a leading construction, waste-management and plant-hire company, have recently taken delivery of several new Hyundai excavators.
Supplied by central Scotland Hyundai dealers Young Plant Sales of Doune, near Stirling, the deal for 12 machines, all the latest Dash-7A Series models, is valued at more than £1 million. It includes a 14-tonne R140W-7A wheeled excavator, three 14-tonne R140-7A tracked machines, four 25-tonne R250-7As, three 36-tonne R360-7As and a 45-tonne R450-7A.
The machines have joined Malcolm Construction’s extensive fleet of trucks and plant-hire equipment and will be deployed on the company’s construction jobs across Scotland and also on hire to other contractors.
Andrew Malcolm, chief executive of the Malcolm Group, said: ‘We all know that market conditions are tough at the moment but we like to keep our fleet of equipment up to date and are always looking ahead positively.
‘There’s no shortage of good, competitively priced excavators to choose from at present, but our decision to buy Hyundai was made easy by our knowledge of, and confidence in, the excellent after-sales service provided by Young Plant Sales, which, from our experience, is second to none.’
The largest Hyundai machine to join the fleet, the 45-tonne R450LC-7A, has been sent to work on site preparation, loading eight-wheel tipper trucks, while one of the three new 36-tonne machines has been built to ‘quarry specifications’ and is currently being used at Malcolm Construction’s Loanhead Quarry, near Glasgow.
