Hitachi launch new ZX530LCH-6 excavator
Latest Zaxis-6 machine delivers high productivity without compromising on efficiency and fuel consumption
HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) have launched the new ZX530LCH-6 excavator, which has been designed to meet the demands of large-scale construction projects and mineral extraction.
The latest Zaxis-6 model offers high levels of performance and durability thanks to added protection for key components and the use of high-quality materials. Several major features have also enhanced the durability of the ZX530LCH-6 in line with HCME’s overall goal to build the ‘ultimate excavator’.
The boom, for example, has been reinforced with thicker plates and the undercarriage consists of robust components including: a track link; master pin; idler pedestal/ bracket; and upper roller bracket.
The Zaxis-6 excavator incorporates an in-cab console made of weather-resistant AES-grade resin that prevents damage from UV rays. The upper-structure has high-quality sealant (around the cooling package) and acoustic materials to eliminate any deterioration caused by heat.
The machine also boasts Hitachi’s HIOS IIIB technology, which uses two pumps and control valves to reduce fuel consumption and operating costs. According to Hitachi, the ZX530LCH-6 can save up to 5% fuel in Eco mode with the same productivity as the previous model. This hydraulic system also has a positive impact on productivity, due to the efficient swing, boom lowering and arm and bucket roll-out.
The new Zaxis-6 machine has been specially developed to deliver fewer emissions and quieter performance. This has been achieved by way of an after-treatment system which consists of a diesel oxidation catalyst, a urea mixing pipe, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) device and silencer.
The SCR system injects urea into the exhaust gas to reduce nitrous oxide (NOx), while other pollutants are reduced by a variable geometry turbocharger and high-volume cooled exhaust gas recirculation system.
Burkhard Janssen, general manager of HCME’s product management and engineering department, said: ‘Hitachi large excavators have always been market-leading products and we have not compromised with the Zaxis-6 range. The ZX530LCH-6 offers a comfortable working environment for operators and is fast and precise, thanks to the efficiency of its hydraulic system. It is renowned for low fuel consumption as well as high productivity, ensuring a profitable return on investment.’
