HCME appoint sole distributor in Spain

HJM to look after Hitachi equipment sales and product support across the whole of the country

HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) have announced a change in structure of their official distribution network for Hitachi construction equipment in Spain, with effect from 1 April 2014.

In order to provide customers with one dedicated point of contact, HCME have appointed Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria (HJM) as their sole distributor for the Spanish market. With headquarters located in Ponferrada, HJM will also have a new 18,000 cubic metre branch office (pictured) for central Spain, located on the outskirts of Madrid.

Previously, the company had successfully covered the northern part of Spain, but will now be exclusively responsible for all sales enquiries and product support matters for the Hitachi range, which includes crawler and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders, rigid dumptrucks and special-application machinery, for the entire country.

In line with this development, Portuguese company Moviter have relinquished their Spanish operation and are refocusing their efforts and applying their extensive experience to their existing markets in Portugal and Angola.

HCME say these changes highlight their ongoing commitment to support Hitachi customers, by working with dedicated dealers that have specialist knowledge of their individual markets, resulting in better product and applications advice, and even higher levels of service and after-sales support.
