Finning acquire Finnpave

CATERPILLAR dealers Finning (UK) Ltd have acquired Finnpave, the UK and Republic of Ireland dealers for the Bitelli range of pavers, planers and associated specialist surfacing equipment. Based in March, near Cambridge, Finnpave have been sole dealers for Bologna-based Bitelli — a Caterpillar subsidiary company — since 1983.

Finning say the move will allow Finnpave to offer their customers a single source of surfacing products manufactured by Caterpillar and sold under both the Cat and Bitelli brands. Finnpave, who will retain their existing identity, will now become Finning (UK)’s focused surfacing business unit.

The acquisition will also allow Finning to take advantage of the Government’s £180 billion 10-year Transport Plan and align with Caterpillar’s strategy for its surfacing product range, which is seen as one of the key growth areas for the company.
