EDGE Innovate launch new TRT620R trommel
Heavy-duty model offers maximum production, increased screening efficiency and fuel cost savings
EDGE Innovate have expanded their existing range of trommel screens with the launch of the new TRT620R track-mounted trommel.
Designed for maximum productivity and superior screening efficiency, the new EDGE TRT620R has a heavy-duty design coupled with high manoeuvrability. These key factors ensure the new trommel can be used for a wide range of applications, including C&D waste, compost, mulch, soil and biomass.
Another notable feature of the EDGE TRT620R is combining a remote-controlled, 180° radial fines conveyor with the ability to track, screen and stack material simultaneously. This improves production capacities, reduces material handling and creates large radial or windrow stockpiles.
The positioning of the radial fines conveyor means the TRT620R has the same small footprint as a side conveyor trommel albeit with much superior product separation and reduced material contamination.
Designed to accept several other trommel drums from different manufacturers, the machine allows operators to take full advantage of their existing drum stock as well as drums from other plant/machinery suppliers.
A quick and simple drum exchange procedure is facilitated via an innovative sliding feeder design and double-sided 180° swinging drum doors. EDGE Innovate say screening drums can be changed in a matter of minutes.
With a screening area totalling over 30 square metres, the TRT620R is equipped with a 2m x 5.5m long spiral drum (with variable drum speed and adjustable screening angle) and to enhance the trommel’s versatility, a range of different drum types and screen apertures will be made available.
The new trommel screen features a 1,400mm wide, variable speed feed conveyor with forward/reverse functionality while a large hopper opening ensures optimum flow of material to the screen drum.
Also incorporated in the TRT620R is EDGE’s intelligent load management system, which constantly monitors drum pressure and regulates feeder speed – eliminating material overload and delivering optimum screening performance.
Addressing the need for increased safety, the trommel can be operated wirelessly and remotely from a distance of up to 100m, giving the operator control over feeder speed, tracking, tipping grid cycles and rotation of the radial fines conveyor.
Powered by Caterpillar’s Stage V/Tier 4 Final C3.6 engine, users and owners of the TRT620R will see substantial savings in operational costs and fuel consumption. And further savings can be achieved, thanks to a unique ‘Eco-Power Saving’ mode which reduces engine speed to idle when the trommel is not processing material.
