Eagle Recycling heap praise on McCloskey jaw crusher
Scottish contractor invests in new compact J40 machine to stay ahead of the competition
EAGLE Recycling, part of the Purvis Group, have taken delivery of a new McCloskey J40 jaw crusher, which has been supplied in the company’s custom colours of blue and grey. Founded in 2004, the contractor’s reputation has gone from strength to strength and it now operates from a number of locations in the Central Belt region of Scotland.
Eagle Recycling have also expanded into the business sectors of plant hire, crushing and screening, alongside running a fleet of tippers and volumetric concrete trucks. The company’s latest investment, the McCloskey J40 compact jaw crusher, has been a revelation since taking ownership of the machine.
At 2.5m wide, the J40 unit is suitable for operation in tight working spaces and where a higher degree of mobility is required but a zero compromise on power cannot be tolerated. The McCloskey jaw crusher exceeds expectations, thanks to its heavy-duty cheek plate design, enhanced deeper jaw box and faster jaw speed.
Powered by a fuel-efficient Cat C6.6 engine that delivers 225hp, the J40 unit, with its 40in jaw opening, has proved to be an extremely effective performer for Eagle Recycling, helping the business to process inert, road and demolition waste, as well as producing materials such as MOT Type 1, washed gravel and topsoil products.
Having been long used to running competitor machines, the recycling firm decided to break tradition and invest in the J40 crusher, following a successful demonstration arranged by Chris McKinstry, McCloskey’s area sales manager for Scotland.
‘They have been used to running various competitor equipment but upon delivery of the McCloskey J40, they were instantly impressed by the build quality,’ he said. ‘The machine performed well throughout the demo and the decision to invest in the McCloskey J40 was quick and easy.’
Stuart Bell of Eagle Recycling added: ‘The McCloskey crusher presents a number of benefits over other branded machines we’ve previously run. The build quality and set up is far superior, while the toggle set up and rams for positioning the belt are much better. In addition, the J40 is easier to access, maintain and operate.’
