Dutch demand for Doosan ADTs
Doosan Construction Equipment supply 12 new DA30 dumptrucks to Vinkel-based Ploegam BV
DOOSAN Construction Equipment have won an order for 12 new DA30 articulated dumptrucks from civil engineering contractors Ploegam BV. Supplied by Lieshout-based SJ Staadegaard & Zonen BV, the first six of the new ADTs were ordered for work on a project being carried out by Ploegam and the Van den Biggelaar Group.
The other six machines were delivered separately for work on a contract in Lent, which again was won by Ploegam.
Nine of the dumptrucks have been delivered in Ploegam livery, while the remaining machines bear the colours of Van den Biggelaar. Commenting on the Doosan order, Chris Ploegmakers, co-owner of Ploegam, said: ‘We currently have a Doosan DX140W wheeled excavator and two DX225LC crawler excavators in operation, and have been pleased with the machines and the service provided by Staadegaard. Coupled with our previous experience of Moxy dumptrucks on which the Doosan truck is based, the new DA30 ADTs seemed the logical choice.’
Another key factor contributing to the Doosan order was the impressive results of several weeks of testing on the DA30 on a local job site. The Doosan ADT is equipped with a five-cylinder Scania DC9 Stage IIIB-compliant diesel engine (375hp) and the latest state-of-the-art ZF EP8 gear transmission that is said to reduce fuel consumption.
Featuring Selective Carbon Reduction (SCR) technology, the DA40 delivers very high gross torque (1,873Nm at 1,300 rev/min) to produce the powerful rim pull required to work in extreme hauling conditions, with a top speed of 58km/h.
