Clee Hill Plant invest for the future
Specialist plant hire company places largest ever order for compaction equipment with Bomag GB
CLEE Hill Plant, the largest independent compaction and surface dressing hire company in the UK, have placed their largest ever order for equipment with Bomag GB.
The £5 million order is for more 130 machines including light, medium and heavy tandem rollers, trench rollers, medium and heavy self-propelled rollers, and pneumatic-tyred rollers.
Commenting on the order, Clee Hill’s managing director, David Hargreaves, said: ‘I’m delighted to confirm our largest ever order for equipment. With demand for equipment on the increase, we’re investing for the future.
‘Our customers want to operate the latest fuel-efficient and most productive machines, and this order with Bomag ensures that we’ll have a range of machines available for short- and long-term hire across the UK.
‘We have owned Bomag machines for many years and they tick all the boxes. They are safe, durable and reliable, they have high customer acceptance, and the numbers stack up.’
All of the machines will be built to the latest European Stage 3B or 4 emissions regulations, depending on the machine’s engine power, and the first deliveries have already been made.
Bomag GB’s managing director, Alan Batty, said: ‘This order shows Clee Hill’s confidence in the state of the market and in Bomag machines and aftermarket support. The machines are being delivered to an agreed schedule and many are already at work.’
Clee Hill, based in Chesterfield, have depots in Glasgow, Darlington, Chesterfield, Ludlow, Dartford, Stoke, Corby and Andover, and the new Bomag machines will be available across the UK.
The company’s fleet, which now exceeds 1,800 units, includes specialized equipment for compaction and road surfacing, and more ‘general purpose’ equipment for construction, civil engineering and utility contracting.
Clee Hill, who this year celebrate their 50th anniversary, will be exhibiting at the CEA’s Plantworx exhibition at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire, from 2–4 June.
