Brigade launch new pulsed-radar system

New obstacle-detection system to be shown at Samoter 2011

Brigade Electronics will launch Workzone Backsense, their new pulsed-radar system, which boasts close-in corner-to-corner blind-spot detection, at this year’s Samoter exhibition.

Workzone Backsense is suitable for light- to medium-duty mobile plant machinery and completes Brigade’s portfolio of Xtreme and Standard pulsed-radar obstacle-detection systems.

Unlike most radar systems Workzone features two antennas offering complimentary detection ranges. One antenna offers a shorter radar beam for close-in detection across the back of the vehicle, whilst the other offers a 3m range and is approximately the width of the vehicle, thus preventing false alarms. The sensors are connected to an-in cab warning device that alerts the driver of an object, vehicle or person in the danger zone when manoeuvring.

White sound reversing alarms (bbs-tek) will also be a strong feature at Samoter, as Brigade begin to phase out the beeping tonal alarms.

Also on display (Hall 8, stand E8) will be a range of camera-monitor systems including Brigade’s new waterproof monitor, the BE-970 WM, which meets OEM requirements and has a new modern-style fascia with metal casing.
