Breedon appoint new Southern chief executive

Mike Pearce

Mike Pearce, current MD of AI’s Aggregates division, announced as successor to Tim Hall

BREEDON have announced the appointment of Mike Pearce as new chief executive of the company’s Southern division. He will succeed Tim Hall who is leaving the company at the end of this month.

Mr Pearce, who was recently appointed as managing director of the Aggregates division of Aggregate Industries, will take up his new position in the New Year.

Colin Parke, who currently runs Breedon Southern’s Central region, will lead the Southern division in the interim, reporting to group chief executive Pat Ward.

In his current role with Aggregate Industries, Mike Pearce is responsible for nearly 50 quarries, collectively producing more than 30 million tonnes of aggregates each year.

He was previously Aggregate Industries’ commercial director, co-ordinating strategic activities across all business divisions, whilst also heading up the Contracting division.

Mr Pearce has been a member of the Aggregate Industries executive committee since 2009, during which time he has been variously responsible for the company’s building products, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt businesses.

Commenting on his new appointment, Breedon group chief executive Pat Ward said: ‘Mike brings vast experience of the construction materials sector to Breedon, having held senior management positions in every key area of the industry.

‘Just as importantly, he shares our values and culture. We are delighted to have attracted him to Breedon and look forward to welcoming him to our leadership team.

‘In the meantime, we would like, once again, to thank Tim for the significant contribution he has made to the Group over the last seven years and wish him well for the future.’
