Banks Mining seeking local plant operators
Company targeting nearby communities as dozens of jobs at Bradley surface mine go on offer
BANKS Mining are encouraging people living in the communities around a new surface mine in Co. Durham to apply for dozens of new jobs at the site. The firm is looking to recruit plant and general operatives to work at Bradley surface mine, which sits off the A692 between Leadgate and Dipton.
Around 30 new jobs will be supported at the Bradley site in total, and Banks Mining are aiming to attract as many local applications as possible for the roles. The company will also provide training as required for specific activities.
Lewis Stokes, community relations manager at The Banks Group, said: ‘We have a strong track record of employing people living in the communities around our projects wherever possible, and with recruitment for the jobs we’ll be creating at the Bradley site now beginning, we’re especially keen to hear from local people who have the skills and experience required for the available roles.’
Preparatory work and mining at the site are scheduled to run for between two and three years, with all on-site activity complete in 2021. Restoration will include the creation of a new nature reserve and parkland area, as well as the return of some of the land to agricultural use.
